🎣Event Overview

This is a fun, friendly, and educational float fishing competition for our junior anglers and their families. The goal is for the juniors to showcase their skills by teaching their families how to set up their fishing tackle, followed by a two-hour competition focused on teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun. This event also marks the exciting conclusion of Module 2 for our junior anglers!

⏰Competition Schedule

The competition is a strict 2-hour fishing session.

• 5:00 PM Peg Draw - Juniors draw their fishing spot number.
• 5:15 PM Tackle Setup - A 15-minute window for juniors to teach their families. A coach will be on hand for help.
• 5:30 PM Competition Begins - Let's go fishing!
• 7:30 PM Competition Ends & Tally Time - Tallies are radioed to the head coach.
• 7:45 PM Trophy Presentation - We announce the winners!

📋Competition Rules

• Fishing Method: Float fishing only.
• Bait: Maggots, worms, and sweetcorn only.
• Catch & Release: All fish must be handled with care and returned to the water.
• Fish Handling: Use a landing net for all fish over 1lb.
• Rods Per Family: Maximum of two rods per family team.
• Recording: Catches must be radioed to the head coach immediately.
• Sportsmanship: Respect others' space and have fun!
• Safety First: A safety floating aid is at the gazebo. An adult must supervise at all times.
• Photography & Videography: Photos and videos will be taken for promotional purposes.
