I've had the immense privilege of being immersed in a whirlwind of community-focused initiatives, partnering with some of the most dedicated and inspiring organisations out there to unleash the incredible joy and profound benefits of fishing. The sheer energy, the shared smiles, the dawning understanding on new faces – it’s been a powerful reminder of why we do what we do. From bustling urban canals to serene, dedicated fisheries, the spirit of angling has been well and truly alive!

The tapestry of the weekend unfurled with a gentle, almost hesitant start on Saturday. The air hung heavy and still over the United Kingdom, pregnant with the unspoken promise of summer's full embrace. While the sun played coy, peeking intermittently through a soft veil of cloud, its warmth was undeniable, a subtle pressure against the skin that spoke of longer, brighter days to come. It was on this quietly optimistic morning that my eldest son and I sought the tranquil company of the Gloucester Canal, its waters a long, shimmering ribbon threading through the landscape.

Today's fishing adventure at Mythe Pool was certainly one to remember, though perhaps not for the reasons we'd hoped! Undeterred by a forecast that hinted at blustery conditions, we arrived armed with a trio of tactics, eager to tempt the silver fish, elusive tench, and perhaps even a predatory pike that call these waters home.

We had an absolutely fantastic and incredibly busy morning at the World Jungle Funday held at Queen Margaret School in Tewkesbury! From the moment we arrived, the energy was buzzing, and it was wonderful to see so many families enjoying the various activities on offer.

Introduction:Every angler has a starting point, a place where their passion was ignited and their knowledge began to grow. For me, that place is Bankside Tackle in Tewkesbury. You might be wondering, "What do these two organizations have to do with each other?" The answer is: everything! We are incredibly grateful for their assistance.

World Jungle offers dynamic activities for events and festivals, bringing energy, creativity, and cultural experiences to audiences. They also run community projects like the Cotswold Youth Network and Holiday and Food Programme. Additionally, they provide health and well-being programs and activities to boost overall wellness, along with school workshops designed to spark creativity and cultural engagement.
